Is it possible that the leader of the imminent New World Order, first officially proclaimed by George Bush Snr twenty-two years ago, (exactly eleven years before the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon) will be Israel’s Messiah?
Almost without exception, every religion believes in a coming, or returning, “Messianic” leader. Christian and Judaic expectation culminates in the coming of Messiah to his temple. The New World Order under the auspices of the United Nations also intends to unite the world under a single world leader. At the same time, the doctrines of Freemasonry and other esoteric groups depend on the appearance of such a leader. According to Benjamin Creme, the Maitreya is the “Avatar for the Aquarian Age” and has been living in London since 19 July 1977.
In full page adverts printed in newspapers world-wide in 1982, Creme put it this way: “A modern man concerned with modern problems, political, economic and social. Since July 1977, the Christ has been emerging as a spokesman for a group or community in a well-known modern country. He is not a religious leader, but an educator in the broadest sense of the word – pointing the way out of our present crisis…’”
He claimed that we would ‘recognise him by his extraordinary spiritual potency, the universality of his viewpoint and his love for all humanity. He comes not to judge but to aid and inspire.’
The remainder of the advertisement spoke of this leader’s part in the ‘spiritual hierarchy’, known as the Masters of Wisdom. He would come as Christ to the Christians, Messiah to the Jew, Imam Mahdi to the Muslims, Lord Maitreya or the Fifth Buddha to the Buddhists and Krishnato the Hindus.
It seems we can anticipate a leader who will come to fulfil religious prophecy, thereby uniting all religions under one banner. He will bring apparent unity to the fractured world while assuming, at the same time, the highest political role possible.
From my two previous posts, it will be seen that Jerusalem’s Temple plays a pivotal part in this scenario. To complete the Biblical prophecies, Messiah must rebuild the temple or Jews will not accept his leadership.
Golden Gate, sealed against the day when Messiah should enter Jerusalem.A Muslim cemetery positioned before the gate is an attempt to prevent fulfilment of that prophecy. No holy man, they believe, would cross it.
My novel, Opus Dei, captures the moment when the builder of Israel’s Third Temple attempts to enter Jerusalem through the Golden Gate.
“There was uncertainty in de Bar’s eyes that could have been interpreted as fear.
“Loose me!” he screamed and kicked at the horse’s flanks so that it reared onto its hind legs. And as suddenly as they had come the two men disappeared into the eddying mass of the crowd and were swept away.
High up on the hill near the massive, ancient wall of the city, cameras captured the activity at the Golden Gate. A warning shout from one of the crew went unheeded. Loose stonework above the opening crashed down, crushing several workers instantly and leaving two more pinned helplessly beneath the rubble.
At the boundary of the cemetery, the white horse whinnied and shied. De Bar wheeled it round and made his way towards the Gate of Zion.
An immense banner had been draped across the unfinished stone wall of the temple. It portrayed a simple two-dimensional line drawing of a young man with a cup in his right hand and the branch of a tree in his left. Long hair, tied with a band across the forehead, fell over one shoulder and he was robed in such a fashion as to suggest the representation had been taken from some ancient Greek source. Beneath the figure, in gold lettering, was a scripture taken from the book of the prophet Zechariah.
Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH: and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the council of peace shall be between them both.
“What do you make of that,” Father Miled asked.
Pierre shook his head, “Nothing that could make the orthodox Jews very happy. De Bar is appropriating to himself as builder of the temple a scripture that foretells the Messiah. He could find himself stoned to death if he’s not careful.”
“And the figure?”
Their discussion had been in Arabic and a cheerful Lebanese voice broke in on their conversation. “It’s from mythology.”
They turned to look at the man with interest.
“Greek?” Pierre asked.
He nodded. “But the symbol of the cup comes from the word Khus in the Chaldean language,” he elucidated. “Khus can also be translated Cush, the name of a Babylonian god.” He fingered his moustache. “The branch shows the youth’s relationship to Cush.” He switched unexpectedly to English. “The scion of Cush. The son.”
“Bacchus?” Pierre had to raise his voice a little over the noise of the crowd. The man smiled, displaying very white teeth against the deep tan of his face. “You know a little mythology?”
“I know that Bacchus was represented by the ivy branch.”
The man nodded. “According to Babylonian mythology, the son of Cush was Nimrod,” he said. “In Greece he takes the name of Bacchus. It can be seen in the Greek word for ivy, kissos. Kissos can also be used for Cush. Ivy was used in most of the Bacchanalian orgies and rituals.”
But it was another word that occupied Pierre’s thoughts as he turned to take another look at the banner. The man had used the word scion. As he remembered, it had a dual meaning. A branch used for grafting into the stock of another plant, or a descendent or heir. De Bar, he mused, was certainly intending to be grafted into the stock of another plant. But he wondered whether the olive tree would recognise the new branch.
And perhaps the focus on Sion by de Bar’s organisation, was yet another play on words?
